Our History

Love Into Action: The Birth of the Aulneau Renewal Centre

In 1979, on the 75th anniversary of the Missionary Oblate congregation, the Sisters opened the Aulneau Renewal Centre on the 4th floor of their Mother House in response to the growing need for psychological and spiritual counselling. What began as a labour of love and dedication to empowerment, growth, and spiritual life, grew into a recognized service provider to the people of Manitoba.

The Aulneau Renewal Centre, with its strong commitment to the healing and wellbeing of children and families, embodies the legacy of the Missionary Oblate Sisters, particularly to the disadvantaged children of future generations. The Sisters, co-workers, and beneficiaries remember that:

As is the spring, so will be the stream, for each child is a social and moral wellspring which will have its influence in the world of tomorrow.

Our Organization

The Aulneau Renewal Centre is a registered bilingual not-for-profit organization located at 228 Hamel Ave in St. Boniface, Winnipeg. It was founded in 1979 as a mission of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface. Our Vision

The vision of the Aulneau Renewal Centre is inspired by a Christ-like vision of people living in harmony with self, others, God and Creation. Our Logo

Aulneau Renewal Centre Logo

The Aulneau Renewal Centre chose the dragonfly as the logo because they symbolize change and change in the perspective of actualization. It is the kind of change that brings about transformation in body, mind, heart, and spirit.

Dragonflies are born and start to grow in water and then move into the air and fly. They are a symbol of metamorphosis and transformation, and inspire people to bring about the changes needed in their lives in order to go to reach their full potential.
