If you’re a therapist working with 2SLGBTQIA+ clients then this workshop was made for you. Drawing from her experience as a psychotherapist who works with a majority queer caseload (roughly 98% queer), combined with her lived experience as a queer woman, Lucy has assembled a one-day workshop covering the ins and outs of working with this population. Queer identity is not just about sexual orientation and gender, it is an entire subculture with its own social constructs, rules, language, and unique ways of relating. In the current climate of anti-LGBTQ sentiment it is imperative that clinicians create safer spaces for queer clients. In this workshop you will learn an overview of the spectrum of queer identities, explore topics of gender and attraction, deconstruct gendered language, practice good question-asking etiquette, learn some queer history, do’s and don’ts, and much more. It’s Lucy’s goal to create a world with more queer equity and inclusion, and to do that we need safer spaces. And the first step is to educate ourselves. So join Lucy in doing just that!
