Download Brochure: Working with Muslim Clients
Do you know why Muslim clients avoid making appointments on Fridays? Do you know what would be appropriate when having a session with a Muslim client who is of a different gender? Is body, mind, spirit important to Muslim clients?
The increase of newcomers into Canada demonstrates the need to work with different cultures and different faith groups. Sometimes we need to understand the culture and faith to be able to provide appropriate services to our clients. While we cannot understand everyone, we can get some basic information to help us when working with Muslim clients.
Sophia Ali is a Social Worker who is also Muslim and will be speaking about working with Muslim clients in a therapeutic setting. She is currently the Executive Director of the Aulneau Renewal Centre and is an active member of the Muslim Mental Health Committee in Manitoba.
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is on Friday November 30th, 2018.
