COVID-19 Update

March 13, 2020 – 12:39pm

The health and safety of our clients and staff is a top priority for Aulneau Renewal Centre. As COVID-19 continues to impact the world, we wanted to communicate the added precautions we are taking.

Self-isolation/illness

In accordance with advice provided by Manitoba’s provincial medical health officer, self isolation is necessary only if you are returning from travel to affected areas.

  • Monitor yourself and those close to you for symptoms similar to the flu or common cold such as coughing, sneezing, sore throat, fever, or difficulty breathing.
  • If individuals need to self-isolate because they are experiencing flu symptoms, they should confirm symptoms with Health Links by calling 204-788-8200 or toll-free 1-888-315-9257, or a medical doctor/health provider.

Clients who are showing the above symptoms are asked to cancel their appointments.  The no show/late cancellation fee will be waived for clients.  This will be for all sliding scale and CFS clients.  For those who wish to have a session, they will have the option of having a phone session with their counsellor.  This will be done over the phone or with the use of Zoom.  Clients will be asked to pay for their session with a credit card over the phone and will be transferred to their counsellor.

Clients who come in when they are not well will be asked to go home.  The safety of all our clients and staff is very important to use.

Just like we ask our clients to take care of their health, we are asking the same for our staff.  If your counsellor is unable to come into the office, we will be cancelling your session.  We will notify you as soon as possible.

 Trainings/ Workshops

Aulneau Renewal Centre is committed to providing excellent learning opportunities.  At this time, if you are registered for a training or workshop and would like us to accommodate you, we are happy to provide a refund at this time.  In recognition of this unique window of time, we will also be exploring additional training opportunities.  Please see our website for any additional information.

 Prevention Tips

Our community is reminded to take precautions that can help avoid contracting and spreading novel coronavirus or other respiratory illness. These common prevention measures include: regular handwashing with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand cleanser; covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing; and avoiding contact with anyone showing symptoms of a respiratory illness, such as coughing or sneezing. It is important to wash your hands:

  • after coughing or sneezing;
  • when caring for a sick person;
  • before, during, and after food preparation;
  • before eating;
  • after toilet use; and
  • when hands are visibly dirty.

We are encouraging all clients to wash their hands before and after each session.

We are aware that we are a much-needed service in our community.  We hope that together we are able to contain COVID- 19 so that we can continue to provide our clients with exceptional and compassionate care.
